Gastroenterology
The WVU Pediatric Digestive Disease Department offers diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional disorders for infants, children, and adolescents.
Common disorders we treat include:
- chronic abdominal pain
- diarrhea
- constipation
- vomiting
- gastroesophageal reflux disease
We also can help children with less common disorders including:
- gastrointestinal bleeding
- inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis)
- celiac disease
- gastrointestinal disorders (such as allergic bowel disease, parasitic infection, gastroenteritis)
- acute and chronic liver disease (including different types of hepatitis)
- biliary tract diseases
- short-bowel syndrome
- complex nutritional problems
